Up for sale is a bundle of Polished Stainless Steel Round Tubing, presumed to be 304 grade stainless steel. The actual grade of stainless steel is presumed to be 304, being there is no documentation to provide. The level of polishing on all of the tubing in the bundle is not verified by paperwork or documentation of any kind, but is comparable to a #7 grade polish. The polished finish is not a perfect mirror finish, but has the qualities of a mirrored finish similar to chrome. All in this tubing bundle is presumed to be welded tubing, as that feature was not inspected for prior to the tubing being re-packaged. However, this tubing may just be extruded tubing, but that feature is unknown, and is being represented as welded tubing. I had obtained two quotes from two different tubing suppliers, to determine the approximate value of this tubing bundle when purchased brand new. One quote I received was for mill finish, welded tubing, which was $4200.00, not including shipping. The second quote I received was for polished #7 grade, welded tubing, which was $9400, not including shipping. Those two quotes were based on the exact outside/inside dimensions, wall thickness, lengths and quantity, as the list below.
This bundle of tubing was stored long term in a welding shop, which was packaged in paper/plastic sleeves, which had deteriorated over time allowing welding dust to settle on to some of the tubing. All of the tubing in this bundle was removed from the paper/plastic sleeves to be inspected. The listing shows new, open box condition which this bundle is, but it does have some visible defects as detailed below. After the inspection, all of the tubing was scrubbed and wiped down to remove all of the welding dust. After inspection and cleaning, there were 3-5 rust stains in total found on a few of the 20' tubing sections, where the tubing was in contact with the raw steel rack that the tubing was stored on. The pictures show one of the 3-5 rust stains in total which are all similar in size, and those rust stains should be able to be easily removed with a metal polishing compound. After inspection and cleaning, there were 3-5 scratch spots in total found which are all similar in size, on a few of the tubing sections, the pictures show one of the 3-5 scratch spots in total. Most of the rust stains and scratch spots were found on the 1.50"OD and the 1.25"OD tubing. Beyond that, there are a few, very slight blemishes, on a few of the tubing sections in this bundle. Most of the tubing in this bundle measure 20 linear feet or more, being that it is common that tubing is usually not manufactured/formed in exact 20 foot lengths. Some of the bundle may measure exactly 20 feet and some of the bundle will be 3-4" longer than 20 feet. There are eight tubing sections that measure 24' or slightly longer, one tubing section that measures less than 20', but a complete listing of the tubing sizing and lengths are as follows:
1.50"OD/1.35"ID/.08"Wall - 11 total tubing sections at 20'
1.25"OD/1.10ID/.08"Wall - 8 total tubing sections at 24'
.88"OD/.74"ID/.08"Wall - 2 total tubing sections at 20'
.75"OD/.63"ID/.05"Wall - 14 total tubing sections at 20'
.50"OD/.36"ID/.06" Wall - 3 total tubing sections at 20' - 1 tubing section at 18'
All of the outside and inside diameters, as well as the wall thickness dimensions listed above were determined with the use of a standard digital micrometer. There might be slight variances found to the outside and inside diameters as well as the wall thicknesses as mentioned above, with a high precision micrometer, but the measurements stated are consistent with commonly available tubing sizes in the current metals market. All of the individual tube sections per size, have the same OD/ID/Wall thickness.
The entire tubing bundle has been re-packaged to make ready for shipping to the buyers destination. The tubing was packed in either 3 tube sections or 2 tubing sections of the same outside diameter. As seen in the pictures, bubble wrap was wrapped around the tubing sections, staggered along the tubing sections, to prevent rubbing in transit. Both ends of the tubing was wrapped with two layers of the bubble wrap to protect the tubing from any bumping to the ends. Each bundle of 3 or 2 tubing sections were labeled to show the OD/ID/Wall thickness and the number of tubing sections in that bundle. After that, the tubing sections were all wrapped tightly in shrink/stretch wrap. Buyer is responsible for either picking up/transporting the tubing in person or the hiring of a shipping contractor to provide the transportation of the tubing to the buyer's location. Either way, the buyer is responsible for the entire cost of the shipping/transportation cost of the tubing. The seller of this tubing is willing to transport the tubing to a local (within 10 miles of zip code 37920) trucking/shipping hub for free, once the buyer provides the seller proof that the shipping cost in total has been pre-paid by the buyer. The seller is willing/able to transport the tubing to a buyer, to a location within 200 miles of the zip code 37920, for a negotiated fee, after the sale has been made, and the seller receives the funds. Any/all sales of this tubing is final and there are no returns whatsoever. Make an offer based upon the information above, I may be open to trades, let me know what you have.
