Registered Dental Assistant (Knoxville (Bearden area))

compensation: $18/hr plus benefits
employment type: full-time

I am looking for a registered dental assistant with at least 1 year of experience to work in a busy Endodontic practice in Knoxville Tn. Duties include:

1) setting up and breaking down rooms for treatment
2) maintenance of room (cleaning trap, stocking supplies, taking inventory, cleaning vacuum lines, etc)
3) meet/greet/seat patients
4) take medical history, do sensibility tests, take xrays and present to doc
5) assisting doc with procedure (consults, root canals, retreats, extractions, bone grafts, implants)
6) entering notes for review by doc at the end of the day
7) clean room, sterilize instrument, setup for next patient
8) if we are slow help other assistants and/or docs if they need help doing anything

(I currently have a scrub tech that should be able to take care of #2 and #7, but you should be willing do it if they are not there)

Other noteworthy items:

There is no designated lunch time, but you will always have time to eat and take a break

Im looking for someone who is not transient and wants a long term career (20+ yrs)

I understand that emergencies happen, children get sick, employees get the flu, families want to go on vacation but not every month. Im looking for someone who is settled and has a support system in place that can help them with the little emergencies so they do not have to take off except for the big ones. Also, I will buy back your sick and vacation time at the end of each year to encourage this

Time Requirements:

Monday - Friday
7am - close (most of the time 5pm)

I only need one assistant here for the first patient and one for the last, and currently I have an assistant who comes in at 7am so if you would rather come in at 8 and leave at close that can be accommodated (or vice versa)

Pay and Benefits:

Daily Rate: $18/hr and $27 for overtime
Monthly: $100 grooming allowance

Sick Leave: 1 week
Vacation: 1 week (2 weeks at year 2)
*all unused vacation and sick leave will be bought back at the end of the year

401K - eligible at 1yr

Health Insurance - none

At each year anniversary you can choose either a $1 raise or an extra $100 of grooming allowance per month (max $25/hr)
