This motor was on a Triumph chopper named the War Lord and ran around Good Old Knocksfull for about a year and it was stolen. It was stripped and only parts were returned. I am not sure if this is the 650cc or the 500cc motor short block. I really think it is the 500. Looking at the low serial number it probably was made the first month of the production of Thunderbirds. If I remember correctly the number is 6T1161 or very close to this. This motor was rebuilt in 1973 and has been sitting in the basement since 1974. The rods are still attached in to the crankshaft. The oil has dried up and turned to sludge and will need to be cleaned out. All the surfaces look great and feels real good. I am firm on this price of $500.
I also have a 1953 head with a stripped carburetor from a 650 Thunderbird motor. It was perfect but it has been sitting on a shelf since the mid 80s. If I was going to use it I would take it apart and inspect it and probably lap the valves. $250 for head but $150 if you buy the motor.
I would like to get more pictures of these but the parts are in my storage shed and I am 77 and need help to get to them. Some things are just to heavy for me to lift. I am near Lenoir City, TN and can meet you someplace. No shipping.
