I have come across a homeless teen and have found it difficult to find resources to really help this person. I called the run away shelter but they had no place to put this teen for the night. I am wanting to put together a book of resources together so that I can start becoming involved and helping these kids get back on track. Here is what I am looking for:

Shelters catered to the young: (For those who won't go into foster care due to past experiences and abuse)
GED Resources that are free
Programs designed to help them deal with mental issues, getting their GED, Getting job Training.

I know that there are alot of numbers and ads out there that say that if there is a runaway that they can call a number and get help but honestly, it seems that with this peticular individual we were actually running around and getting now where. I would really like to set a system up with REAL HELP.

If you would like to be apart of the this and can offer some service please let me know. I really don't know much except that there is a great need right now and I want to try to fix that.

She did live there last winter and was in the hospital most of it because it needs: * Heating including ducking, underpinning, water pipes winterized, some inside wall and insolaztion, a outside wall needs fixed, porch that needs taken down and put back up when it rains it pours in the front door, front and back doors, some of the flooring needs to be redone there is no tile on any of it but the kitchen and it could be redone not a must though. there are no faucets in either bathrooms tubs, needs piping for one sink in bathroom, and toilet needs fixed to floor, a couple of places in ceiling need replaced, she dont know that im doing this , but this is the only way i can help her. It’s that Spooktacular time of year again!
Time for Cosby’s 2nd annual Spooktacular Trunk or treat!!

If your looking for a fun and safe way to spend your Halloween, come down and join us at the Smoky Mountain Visitors Center “On Cosby” Saturday, October 31st, 2009 from 6pm - 10pm

We are looking for volunteers to pass out candy. All that is required is a trunk, or table. You can decorate it, or not, and bring lots of candy to pass out. In 2008 we had approximately 300 children come through in about 2 hours.

There will be a HAUNTED Hayride!!!!

We are also looking for people, young and old who would be interested in volunteering to dress up and help out in the Trail. Hayride & trail will be open Friday evening & Saturday.

Come out and enjoy this Halloween with your community!!
