===============================================================================
Just out of a nasty divorce and looking to sell my only possession -- Coleman Santa Fe travel trailer. My family only used this camper six times and it looks and smells brand new! This exact camper just sold on the internet for $6500, I'm asking $4000. (What a steal!)
A little bit about the camper: When my family first stepped into this newly erected tent trailer we were surprised at the size and stability of the step going up into the trailer. After stepping into the tent trailer to the right is a big king size bed (77” x 70“). The bed is much more comfortable than I had expected. It has a natural comfort quilted bed mattress. Beside the door is a little storage cabinet. On the left side of the door is a hutch and storage area. Straight across from the entry door is a swing-level galley with a built-in refrigerator, a spacious sink with a small vegetable prep sink. Next to the galley is a portable dinette table with a bench seat on each side that can be made into a bed (72“ x 42“). The table is lightweight and portable and can be used outside. More times than not, we carried a small aluminum eating table (not included) with us and used that to eat, made the dinette into a bed, covered with a quilt and lots of pillows and used it for a very comfy deep couch for watching our portable TV/VCR. At the far left side of the tent trailer is a queen size bed (77“ x 60“). All the mattresses offer pretty decent support. The beds have aluminum frames. This particular trailer can sleep 7 people comfortably. On each side of the trailer in front of the beds is a set of privacy curtains.
Setting up this camper is very easy - I had my 10 and 12 year old completely put the camper up within 10 minutes after arriving at our campsite.
The tent trailer is bright and airy with big vinyl windows. The windows can be opened up with no fear of bugs getting in, the windows all have a fine screen mesh. There is also an aluminum screen door with an automatic spring return. No need to yell, close the door your letting bugs in! The tent fabric is a Sunbrella 302 acrylic fabric. The material breathes so you don’t have that usual heat problem and trapped in odor problem I have seen with the old tent trailers. Those old trailers could be down right stifling! The material is also hypoallergenic. In the old tent trailers the tenting material had to be very dry before putting it away and were prone to mildew and dry rot. One handy feature the bed design allows that the windows can open even during a rainstorm. No rain leaks in and you can have a good amount of cross ventilation. The roof on this unit is a sealed one piece unit that is water-tight. It's very strong too - the dealer that sold this unit demonstrated it by having my sons (10 and 12) jump on the top of the unit -- not the first sign that anything damaged it.
The Posi-Lock crank mechanism allows you to use the mechanism without fear of the handle kicking back. We opted to have four (4) 5000 pound rated stabilize jacks installed (an optional feature) which makes this pop-up rock solid when setup. The crank down stabilizers are easy to get at and simple to use.
We wanted to take this camper to the beach but never made it- one option you could order is an outside shower. So often dirt and sand is tracked in and is so hard to get rid of. With the outside shower, kid’s feet could be showered off before entering the tent trailer. There is also a very handy gray water tank. This tank can be easily emptied. Also on the outside of the trailers is a neat little high pressure stove with a preparation table next to it. All you have to do is haul out the portable table on the inside of the trailer to eat outside. When you finish with the external stone unit, just pack it up (in a handy storage case) and it stores inside the dinette seat. It's important to note that we did not cook inside the camper (no oder) because we used this unit in wilderness areas that were prone to large animal (bears and cougars) visits. We were also a non-smoking family and didn't allow visitors to smoke inside the camper.
I owned a Dodge Dakota 4x4 truck and also used a friends Saturn and have easily pulled the pop-up with both. Even for a smaller car like the Saturn it wasn’t bad at all. Even though the recommended towing weight for our Saturn is only 1000 lbs I have towed the tent trailer for short distances and used the truck for longer distance trips. The trailer caused little wind resistance. This trailer is extremely well-built and solid as a rock.
