The Manager in Training program is a blended learning program focused on immersing the trainee in all aspects of managing a multi-million dollar business for Abercrombie & Fitch. Training takes place in any of our domestic or international store locations, and is divided into weekly increments of focus. Each week the trainee will gain exposure to a different principle of management, including:
Presentation:
Develops plans and delegates tasks to improve areas identified during walk throughs. Oversees sales
floor cleaning, store recovery and standardization, and form and faceout changes.
Brand Rep:
Creates a fun and engaging environment by upholding Abercrombie vision, generating new ideas to
improve store experience, and setting the example of enthusiasm, integrity, commitment, and passion
for the Abercrombie brand and culture. Adheres to and upholds staff to Abercrombie guidelines in
personal appearance, and rules of conduct.
Stockroom:
Oversees stockroom organization, clean sweep, and maintenance, ensuring that all shipments and
documents are scanned properly, processed, and organized efficiently according to Job A and B.
Ensures completion of USR report, reviews and analyzes current and past sales reports and reacts
accordingly to positively impact sales and profitability. Ensures that recalls, damages and transfers are
properly organized and sent to correct locations. Maintains and inspects store and appropriate
stockroom areas, recording issues in Maintenance Log.
Store Operations:
Reads and completes appropriate sections of the Program, prepares store for upcoming season,
performs management-only register functions, and communicates store operation information with
Home Office and store staff. Handles all cash-related managerial procedures. Maintains and updates
personnel files. Sets up Program clipboards. Completes scorecard. Investigates and documents policy
violations.
Recruiting:
Identifies and recruits quality associates for all levels in the store, including managerial jobs. May assist
Store Manager in conducting interviewing, reviewing applications, and conducting orientation.
performance management and development
Participates in training and management meetings. Values diversity in others and develops and
maintains good working relationships with all associates. Orients, trains and develops nonmanagement
staff members by setting achievable goals and effectively communicating their role on the
team.
Scheduling:
Sets priorities, assigns work, and organizes work flow for employee staff.
Customer Experience:
Interacts with and assists all customers to exceed their expectations and ensure they are satisfied with
their Abercrombie experience. Ensures customers are greeted, thanked, and helped by maintaining
appropriate zone coverage. Keeps up to date on merchandise choices to share this knowledge with
customers.
Loss Prevention:
Follows, and trains others to follow, all Abercrombie safety and security policies, including testing of
sensormatic system, and knowledge of current shrink rate. Monitors shrink by being aware of signs of
theft, and assists loss prevention in the event of theft.
